Aunjanue An. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She has an BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis. Ellis is an American actress and producer who is involved in the world of film and on television. Her career began as a theater actress and then appeared in a number of television series and independent and mainstream movies. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received numerous awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. In 1995, she made her debut in the role of Ariel on the stage on stage in The Tempest. Her stage credits comprise Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. With regards to her work in the film industry the most recognizable roles she has played include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. Her part as a character in the drama series High Incident on ABC High Incident earned her praises.
