Anamaria Marinca is a Romanian actress. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. She's fluent in French, German English, and Romanian. Her mother played the violin, Her father is a theater professor in one of Romania's most prestigious theater schools. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in Mangalia's Young Actor Gala. She was named European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. In 2007, her performance as a character in Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film, 4 luni 3 semaines si 2 days (4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days) earned her the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two more awards. The Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. She also appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she portrayed Yasim anwar in the BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in an episode of the Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. Her next film was a big performance in the 2014 film Fury in which she portrayed in the film Fury as a German woman who was named Irma aunt to Emma.
